French cuisine

I went to try the cooking of the acclaimed chef Philippe Labbe who is in charge of the two Michelin starred restaurant, L'Abeille in Paris. He has earned the honor of being named "France's Chef Of The Year" by the Gault Millau Restaurant Guide. The food was so visually appealing. They tasted as good as they looked. Defined flavours, thoughtful dishes with complexity that highlight the quintessence of the ingredients. What a delectable meal!

A good testimony

I recently attended an apologetics training conference and met Tracy Trinita, a former international top model. She shared with us her story of how she chose faith over fame and fortune. Whilst basking in the glamour and fame of the modelling and the entertainment world, she felt empty inside until she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior in 2002. It is truly amazing to see how God transformed her life from a high profile and multi-million modelling career to a faithful pastor and apologist to glorify God. Real fulfillment comes from knowing, loving and serving God!

Wine expert

I started my wine education like most, through drinking. Over the last year, I took the WSET level 2 and 3 courses at one of the local universities and obtained the professional certification. So what did I get out of these courses? I have learnt the major wine producing countries and regions, grape varieties and viticulture etc. The courses seemed to knit the little bits and pieces together and were really worthwhile and very enjoyable due to the practical tasting. The best thing about the courses is that they arm me with great information about choosing wine and I have discovered the wines I like.

A distressing episode

I have been suffering from severe vertigo for 1.2 years.
It was a terrible sudden thing that I just started spinning and swaying and couldn't walk without help because I felt so dizzzzzzzzzy.

Due to my loss of inner balance, I have been pretty much isolated at home and climbing the walls.
This is debilitating, frustrating and depressing. I loathe to be a prisoner in my own home. I have consulted over 30 different specialists from various countries (including HK, Singapore and the US) and have tried many different types of medication but to no avail. During this challenging time, I take God's medicine everyday by hearing His Word which increases my faith. God's word has the power to effect healing in my body. I trust that God will wipe out all my maddening symptoms in His time! I will continue to fight the good fight!

The year of the Dragon is the most auspicious and most powerful of the Chinese zodiac signs. According to Chinese astrology, 2012 is a Water Dragon year which means that there will be many opportunities for good fortune.

Wish you a happy and prosperous Chinese New Year!

I was so thrilled to meet the world-renowned wine critic, Robert Parker, Jr. in Hong Kong. It was such a wonderful opportunity to attend his master class on Bordeaux. We tasted 20 wines from the impressive 2009 vintage, including Le Fleur-Petrus, Smith Haut Lafitte, Haut Bailly and Lynch Bage.

Happy Anniversary!

20.09.2011

Doesn't time fly? It's already our third wedding anniversary!

It was on this day, three years ago that I said "I do" to my hubby. It was a day of bliss, friends, laughters and memories that I will never forget (to be aided by pictures when I'm senile).

Some say the first three years are the hardest, If they are the most difficult, then I am really looking forward to the future!!

We decided to celebrate this special occasion in Bangkok, a place where we never get bored of visiting. We indulged ourselves in shopping, delicious dining and soothing massages.
